LTR for a Green Card holder

Post by jino » Mon Jul 28, 2008 9:07 am

Hi,
I am a green card holder since may 2007. It seems that the delay for processing the application for LTR is 18 months.

I wonder can I apply for LTR now so that I will be legally resident in Ireland for more that 2 years by the time they consider my application.

can anybody give me a suggestion?

thanks in advance
Jino

I don't think they accept LTR applications until you have been in the country for 2/5 years, see http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/Lo ... 0Residency down the bottom.

I thought the ability to go for LTR after 2 years on a green card wasn't even law yet? I've been on a green card since Dec 07. Anyone know? the first people will have been on a green card for 2 years in early 2009!
