Dependant Baby Visa Confusion

Post by bym007 » Thu Dec 03, 2009 1:31 am

Hi,

Student Visa for myself and my dependant wife runs out on 31st December 2009. I have had kept £1350 in my savings account since 5th Sep 09, so by 5th December 2009, I believe I can apply for my PSW Visa.

However, my wife is expecting our first baby, and the baby is due about 2-3rd week of January 2010 (about a month later).

1. What will be the procedures and requirements for applying a dependant visa for my baby? What will the visa fees for the baby's visa (when applied separately from ours ?

2. Is there any way, I could apply for all my visas (3x) at the same time (and thus be able to save time + separate visa fee for the baby) ?

Many thanks for the reading and helping me.

EDIT: Can I also ask that since I have received my original degree certificate and marksheets, do I still need a letter from my university to say the same ?

So what I understand from my reading is that I will apply for my Tier-1 application this month (Dec 09), and when the baby is born (expected Jan 2010), apply for its passport and visa stamp at that time (possible Feb 2010).

What I am not still clear about is the maintenance fund requirements for this baby visa when it is born. I have £1333 (£800 + £533) for myself and my dependant wife in savings saved for 3 months as required.

So when I apply for the baby's visa in Feb 2010, what/if anything at all do I need to show in my savings ? Is there any provision for new born babies?

ADD: Reading here, it appears that I will need to keep £533 for 3 months in my savings account, before I can apply for the baby's visa. Is this correct ?

Hi,

I think you should go on with your application(You and your wife)and if possible, try and leave that 1333pounds (i.e 800pounds for you and 533pounds for your baby till January ending) . Then, after the arrival of your baby in January, you can apply for your baby's visa using bank statements for the month of Nov, Dec 2009 and Jan 2010 as proof for your baby's maintenance fund. I hope this worked out fine.

Pls,ask experts in the house for more guidance.Goodluck

You forgot to add in the £533 for the wife as well, you can't use the same £533 for both the wife and child.

I will leave £800 (for myself) + £533 (for mrs) + £533 (for the baby) in my account for a while (£1866 in all), and apply for the visa then.

I doubt if that would be in Jan, as I need a passport for the baby before I can apply for the Visa.

Thanks for your help though
