Hello i have a question if anyone can help. Im a UK citizen born and raised in the UK, my wife who came here last year is on a spouse visa for 33months with no recourse to public funds. We have just been blessed with a beautiful daughter who was born here in the UK and wish to know if we can claim for child benefit and other benefits child tax credit, working tax credit. I currently earn £19000 a year My wifes on a Spouse Visa with no recourse to public funds, I am a UK citizen and my 1 week daughter was also born in the UK. Any help would be much appreciated. I do not wish to claim benefits if it will affect my wifes visa status later on the line.

You can claim child benefit in your name only.

Claim tax credits in joint names with your spouse. This will not have any effect on her future visa applications.
