Need information on switching from Tier2 ICT

I was initially granted work permit on 28 April 2008 under Tier2 ICT. My visa was renewed 3 times as per details below
Start Date - End date
28 April 2008 - 28 April 2011
25 April 2011 - 13 August 2013
19 July 2013 - 27 July 2016
25 May 2016 - 08 August 2019
Now the client I work with wants me to work for them and are thinking to sponsor me.
i have a few Questions
1) can my visa be transferred to my client or they need to apply for Tier2 general visa
2) I am now eligible for applying for ILR in Aug 2020 under Tier 2 ICT. will i still be able to apply for ILR if i switch employer or move to Tier2 general visa.
3) if i stay with my current sponsor will i need to earn the min salary to apply for ILR
Please help with the above questions at the earliest.

Why haven't you applied for ILR already based on 10 years long residence??

Going by your statements, you could've applied for ILR on the 5 year route in 2013

i have 2 gaps in my residency. From 23 September 2011 - 15 February 2013 i was in india and from 13 April 2014 to 06 August 2015 i worked in Dublin. so could not apply for ILR. MY visa was still valid during this absence. from Aug 2015 i am in UK, so only eligible for ILR in Aug 2020
