Tier 2 to ILR - new employer, do i need a sponsor or offer letter suffices

Post by TMA » Wed Oct 30, 2019 10:40 pm

Hi,

I have read through many topics and what I need clarification on isn't currently visible.
My situation is as such that I will be eligible for ILR in Feb 2020 (having spent 5 years on TIER 2 general visa, which is valid till August 2020). Now my current employer is currently unwilling to meet the minimum salary threshold for the application of ILR.

Hence I am considering switching employers in order to surpass the minimum salary threshold. So my question is will I need a Tier 2 Sponsor again after Feb 2020 or will having an offer letter with a new employer suffice to apply for an ILR straightaway without switching tier 2 sponsor?

Yes,you need to meet the requirements while sponsored by a tier 2 employer

You have to meet the ilr requirements with a tier 2 sponsor. Any future employment is irrelevant.
