IHS Surcharge Tier 2 Dependant

Post by focaalvarez » Thu Nov 07, 2019 9:15 pm

Hello,

My wife is getting her Tier 2 Visa Sponsored by her employer. She has a 2 year contract, but the company is giving her a visa sponsorship for 5 years. Her sponsor is going to pay for her IHS surcharge.

I will be applying as a dependant to her visa and the IHS website asks me about the expiry date of her visa. Will I have to pay for the 5 years? I have read that the IHS does not refund if we leave the UK earlier.

Does that mean that I will lose the money paid to the IHS if I pay for 5 years? Is there a way of paying only for the duration of het contract (which is effectively the time we will remain in the UK)

Thanks
