Newborn Tier 2 Dependent Visa IHS

Post by Tanupatel » Fri Mar 06, 2020 2:26 pm

Hi all,

We had a baby in Jan 2020 and are eligible for ILR in May 2021. We are not planning to travel outside UK before ILR process with the new born.

Is it mandatory to get Tier 2 Dependent visa for the new born ? I'm reading about IHS and that NHS services are covered only for 3 months. Does this include specialist services or even GP services?

We were hoping to directly apply for the British Citizenship for the new born once our ILR is processed.

Any information on the above would be helpful.

Thank you

Not mandatory no. The 3 months refers to NHS as a whole. After that, you will likely have to pay @ 150% of the cost.
