Tier 2 General Visa Application validity

Hi All,

I would need to apply for Tier 2 General Visa (I have a CoS) from outside UK (I am in one of the EU countries). I would need to fill up the VAF or Visa Application Form in the UK govt portal and appear for Biometric. However my notice period with my current employer is 3 months. Also due to current situation of COVID-19, the biometric centers are closed for now. Hence could you please advise if I should fill up the VAF now and if yes then what is the validity of VAF within which I would need to enter UK?

You need to enter the UK within the validity of your visa issues and end date on the 30 day visa vignette.

Your vaf application date is irrelevant.

You also have to apply within 3 months of the cos being assigned.

Thanks. So is there a challenge being with a 3 months notice period? Because after I get the visa then only I would serve the 3 months Notice period.

Your notice period is irrelevant to the tier 2 process and a UK employer.

You will need to work this out yourself and plan your timings and risks you want to take.
