Applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain

Post by Anonymous82 » Thu Jun 18, 2020 4:59 pm

Hi all,

I came to study in 2014 and graduated in 2015. Please see timeline below

2014 - 2015 - Tier 4 Visa

Work Start Dates: 17th Jan 2016 to 17th Jan 2019 on first COS allocation and applied for TIer 2 Visa
10th June 2017 Visa Approved.
BRP issue date 10th June 2017. Valid until 3rd March 2019.After 1.5 years due to backlog in home office.

First extension applied. BRP issue date 3rd May 2019. Valid until 3rd March 2022.

I applied in Jan 2016. My tier 4 expired end of Jan. For a whole 1 and a half years I worked full time and waited for the visa but never received it till June 2017.

My question does this 1.5 years not count towards me working 5 years in the country? Do i need to wait till March 2022 to apply for my Indefinite Leave to Remain?

Please confirm.

Thanks in Advance
Lana

No it does not.

You need 5 years on tier 2, counted from the date your tier 2 visa was issued.
