Good Evening Everyone,
I wonder if someone can help me with my query regarding extension of my wife's tier 2 dependent visa. I have recently applied for ILR under the tier 2 general route and waiting for confirmation of my appointment for Biometric if required unless they use my existing details. I switched from Tier 4 to Tier 2 in Nov, 2015 and was granted a 5-year tier 2 visa as my cos was 3+ years. My wife joined my in 2016 under Tier 2 dependent and received her visa with expiry same as mine. Now when I try to fill out her extension application under PBS tier 2 dependent, I have to put details of my current BRP which expires on 31st Oct, 2020. Her category is automatically chosen as over 3 years based on my previous cos duration which is no longer valid, though I only need to apply for an under 3-year category as she would be eligible for ILR next year. I also inturn need to pay a higher application fee if i continue with the over 3 years category.
Similarly, when it comes to IHS fee, they need my visa expiry day which i don't have at present.
Can somebody advice what is the best way to avoid this confusion and pay the correct fee. I have spoken to an immigration solicitor and he has advised on filling arbitrary dates regarding my application in her application followed with a cover letter explaining the situation. But i'm not sure if this is the correct way. Things would have been much easier if we had premium service available and decision would have been available immediately. Now since her application is independent from mine, they still have to be linked through some paperwork
Sorry for the long post. Thank you in advance to whoever takes time out to answer my query. Your help in this regard is greatly appreciated
