Migrated from Student to Skilled Worker and time to change dependent visas

Post by Jammula » Sun Oct 02, 2022 5:25 pm

Dear Family Members,
Recently my wife has changed her visa status from student to Tier 2 Skilled worker visa
I have two questions that I need your help or support, could you please respond at the earliest possible time:
1. We have applied for 3 years skilled worker visa and got only one year, can some one help me to understand why we got only one year visa and what might be the reasons?
We have requested Administrative Review for the same and waiting for the decision. How long this might take?
2. As my wife visa status changed, how much time do we have to change dependents visa? Is it immediately we have to change or we can wait until the Administrative Review result and then apply? Is there any legal complications if we wait till we get the Administrative review results?
Please help someone at the earliest possible time as its been already 4 days passed after my wife's visa decision.

What was the CoS length given to her by her employer? If they assigned her a 1 year CoS, then a year visa is all she will get

When does the new brp card expire?

What exactly does the approval letter/email say?

You should switch visa sooner rather than later

The new BRP card expires on 16-Oct-2023, but CoS approval is 02-Oct-2025.
We have already applied for Administrative review, based on that decision dependents has to apply or now it self we need to apply. If we apply now and Administrative review decision goes positive then again we need to change dependents as well right? so is the best approach we can go with?
