Eligible for Benefits under Student Visa

Post by mango2021 » Sun Feb 14, 2021 10:55 am

Hi,

I am visiting UK on student visa and wana know about the benefits available if my spouse and children visit UK on dependant visa.

1) i am studying masters which is a 1 year course and post that 2 years will be work visa, Will these 3 years be counted while applying for my ILR post 5 years. I mean are the study years inclusive while calculating 5years of stay in UK as an eligibility for ILR?

2) Will my children (10 yrs & 5 years) be eligible for free education?

Please help

Thanks

1. Student visas do not count towards the 5 years for ilr.

2. Yes, if they hold dependent visas. Note, education is NOT "benefits".
