permanent residency... what is the next step??

hi guys, i am hoping to get some answers on next step here, as HO website is confusing the crap out of me....

I am eea national and my hubby is south african, got married 7 years ago, finally last year in June he got his PR, what is next?

I am not sure if he should apply for naturalisation or citizenship or what. I know his PR is for 10 years but his passport is expiring Feb 2015 so we need to sort something out and ideally it would be british pasport. could I ask what should we do next and how to go about it? what is difference between naturalisation and citizenship? which application forms should we fill in, what paperwork will we need( links would be very helpfull) and how much will it cost? do we need to wait a year since his pr was granted? any input would be very helpfull. thanks guys.

He can stay on PR or apply for BC. It's his choice.

thanks Jambo, he wants to apply for BC but after reading through HO website I am not sure if he needs to apply for naturalization first or citizenship? I know I might sound a bit thick but its all so confusing as I dont even know what the difference is between the two. do you know which forms to use? does he need to apply for naturalization first?

A person applies to Naturalise as a British Citizen - it is basically the same thing.

Does he want to retain is South African citizenship?? If he does, there is an additional process and costs that needs to be done before he can apply for British Citizenship.
