Help with filling in the application and uploading documents

Post by feri_2017 » Thu Apr 18, 2019 9:05 am

Hi all

I am applying via ILR, Asylum route. I just finished filling in the main part of the online application, and came across a few confusing sections which hoping someone can help me with;

- When I am asked about my previous UKVI applications, do I need to provide only ILR application or do I have to go further back and give them details of the asylum application too?

- The very last question in the online application is the following, what do I need to tell them here?

"Do you have any other details that you would like to be considered regarding this applicant and their application to be registered as a British Citizen?"

- After filling in the application section on UKVI site, there is Documents page which has only a few check lists but there is no place to upload the documents. After that there is a declaration page and then Payment, when is it going to ask me to upload my scanned documents i.e referee forms ?
Is it happening after I pay?
Would it be via UKVI site or their partner Sopra website?
Would I be given a link to my application on Sopra website?

- Date of submission, when is considered the date of submission of the application? After I pay, or after I submit the declaration page?

- Presence in the UK exactly 5 years before the application date. Is this date considered 5 years before the date I submit my application?

Thanks
Feri

All immigration applications you have made to Home Office.
- The very last question in the online application is the following, what do I need to tell them here?

"Do you have any other details that you would like to be considered regarding this applicant and their application to be registered as a British Citizen?"
It is not a mandatory question. You can leave it blank or add any additional information if you wish.
- After filling in the application section on UKVI site, there is Documents page which has only a few check lists but there is no place to upload the documents. After that there is a declaration page and then Payment, when is it going to ask me to upload my scanned documents i.e referee forms ?
Is it happening after I pay?
You upload after you pay and select the Sopra service. Uploads are to the UKCVAS site.
Would it be via UKVI site or their partner Sopra website?
Yes.
Would I be given a link to my application on Sopra website?

Likely yes.
- Date of submission, when is considered the date of submission of the application? After I pay, or after I submit the declaration page?
The date of application is the date you submit and pay online.
- Presence in the UK exactly 5 years before the application date. Is this date considered 5 years before the date I submit my application?
Yes and this is a mandatory requirement you have to meet.

Thank you very much CR001

I'm one click away from submitting my application. However there is something which is botherting me and I'm not sure how to explain it in my cover letter.

I came to the UK as a student, then bacame an asylum seeker.
At the time when I was studying I applied to extend my student visa on 12th Nov 2010, which was goign to expire on 17th Nov 2010.
My application was refused on 7th January 2011. I immediately fixed the problem with the application and applied for an appeal. Home Office received my appeal application on 27th January 2011, they sent me a letter confirming the reciept of the application. Eventually I was granted an extension to my student visa on 15th September 2011.

Now I'm a stressed out that this might cause a refusal on my BC application. Not sure how I can explain the above in my cover letter. I have the letters which I received from Home Office rearding my appeal.

I'd appreciate it if someoen can give me some advice on this.

Thanks for your help

After digging into my application and history I found other stuff that might be used as grounds for refusal. Can someone please give me an advice for whether I need mention clarify these in my cover letter

1. The above Student Visa refusal

2. Back in 2014, I traveled to Kenya for Holiday, with my CTD. Qatar Airways check-in in the airport checked my documents and told me that I could get a visa in the airport when I arrive in Nairobi. Well that was not the case, I went all the way there to find out that I couldn't get a Visa and I had to come back to London (deported) when I came back I explained everything to the immigration officers in Heathrow, I told them that it was all an honest mistake. All went OK, they stamped my CTD. Now I'd like to know would this be a problem considering there is an entry stamp in my CTD?

3. I noticed that some people's application was refused based on the grounds of working while students. I did study from 2009 until 2014, and I stuck with the law of maximum 20 hours per week while studying. How would this affect my application?

For any of the above points, do I need to clarify them in my cover letter?
