Passport expiring soon but plan to apply BC

I tried to search if this question was asked already before but I didn't find any.

My passport is expiring in March 2020 but I plan to apply for my British Citizenship in January 2020. Will that be ok? I have no plans of travelling anywhere during my BC application.

Also, is it possible that I will be using my brother's credit card to pay for the BC fees? Because he owes me money but he does not have cash to pay me back.

Yes. there is no requirement that your passport must be valid for x months.
