ILR application, UK born child

Post by wanggw10 » Mon Aug 17, 2020 2:45 pm

Hi All:

Thanks for reading this. Me and my wife will be applying ILR soon, we want to apply the citizenship for our daughter (UK born, travel once aboard, have the BRP) after we obtain the ILR. However, as the priority service is not avaliable at the moment, we will have to wait a certain time before getting the result, my daughter's BRP is about to expiry, what if me and my wife can't get the ILR decision before my daughter's BRP expiry? Will she be illegal stay? Any suggestion to solve this problem? Apply the ILR for her at the same time with our application?

Huge thanks in advance!

Nothing, however you might have to pay for NHS service.
Will she be illegal stay?
A UK born child has an entitlement to register as British once either parent gets ILR. A UK born child does not need a valid visa to register as British.
Any suggestion to solve this problem?
Simply register the child when either parent has ILR. No issues.
Apply the ILR for her at the same time with our application?
Not required.
