Change of circumstances before citizenship ceremony.

Post by Janee » Mon Aug 31, 2020 3:12 pm

Hello everyone! I am just wondering if divorce would affect my eligibility for obtaining a British citizenship .
I have got a settle status last year and as a spouse of British citizen I applied straight away for British naturalisation.
I've got an acknowledgement letter from HO in the end of May 2020 confirming my successful application.
My question is.. will my divorce in-between acknowledgement letter and the citizenship ceremony affect my entitlement ? I have contacted my immigration lawyer and I've been told that I have nothing to worry about as I made the application while marriage was still obtained but still have doubts whether its true or not...

Thank you in advance!

No, unlikely.
