Half life lived/citezenship

Post by Sasjenn » Mon Mar 22, 2021 8:14 pm

Okay so I am 20 years old I am tuning 21 this year and I have been in the uk since I was 2 months old, I was born October 12 2000, and I arrived on my mums passport on a 6 months visit visa in the uk 21 December 2000.But my mum only received our leave to remain on the 22 March 2014. (I have currently sent of my application to renew it, but once I get back my leave to remain in some months I am hoping to apply for citizenship or ILr. My point is I I did not have a choice over my parents coming and overstaying here as I was a newborn baby. And also fact that I have been in this country my whole entire life minus 2 months! I have lots of evidence and proof of me being here all the way back to nursery etc.Anyone with some honest advise or in a similar situation that could help for when I attempt to apply with a solicitor this year?!

You cannot apply for citizenship until you have ILR.

If you are on the 10 year route (4 X 2.5 year visas), you have to wait 10 years from the initial leave to remain date in 2014, before you can apply for ilr, provided you have held valid leave to remain for the full 10 years.
