Child born Abroad- register for citizenship or not

I have read alot about this topic and my 4 children have the right to British citizenship from their father.
I need to apply for their passports to travel to the UK so they can see their father and family there.

I don't know if they need to be registered before I make the passport application or not.

They are born in Morocco between 2015 and 2020
their father is British born in 1978

Do I need to register them or not?
