Citizenship for children

Post by QT » Fri Jul 08, 2011 3:19 pm

Hi,

I came in UK on a student visa and then got a full time job offer. I am currently working on a work permit and my ILR will due in Dec. 2011. I have three dependents my wife, son (5 years old) and daughter (20 months old). I will really appreciate receiving your advice on the following points: -

(1). Can I apply ILR within 28 days before "start date on my work visa" or "date of entry in the UK on work visa"?

(2). My son was born abroad but living with me as a dependent for last 5 years while my daughter was born in the UK and since then she is my dependent. My question is can I apply citizenship for both children at the same time when I apply for ILR?

Any advice with such personal experience and/or reference of relevent legislation would be really appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

1. Normally, you may apply for ILR no sooner than 28 days prior to the 5th anniversary of your date of entry and before your leave expires. Although with the new guidelines, your qualifying period for ILR may start from the date of visa issue.

Make sure that you submit a valid application.

2. See also childrens passport after ILR.
