Please help regarding MN4 application

Post by sheema_shah75 » Sat Aug 06, 2011 7:35 am

Dear All

I have query regarding MN4 application (Application for registration of a child under 18 as a British subject).

I have 5 year old son (born in July 2006) and he was born in UK but he have and I have Pakistani nationality(but not ILR In UK).

I am living with my son and I am separated from my husband (my husband do not have ILR in uk) and I have court order that custody of my son has been awarded to one parent (i.e. my name).
I have read MN4 application guidline and it indicate that if you are single parents and you have child custody order in your name and child born in uk you can apply for child british subject status.

So I have following three questions

(1) Can I apply for MN4 application for my son and can I include my application also in MN4 (For parents applying for British subject status at the same time as their child) and if it approve both of we get British nationality.

(2) I have only evidence from court order (that custody of the child has been awarded to one parent ) will this sufficient for MN4 application

(3) How much time it takes for outcome of MN4 application if I have court order for one parent.

Regards

Sheema.

However, if a parent is subsequently granted ILR, then their child previously born in the UK will be entitled to register as a British citizen.

Why do you think you are eligible to register a 'British subject' ? This type of application is quite unusual. From your description of your case, you are not eligible.
If you be granted ILR then the UK born child can apply to become British citizen.

Because I am thinking that the main criteria of MN4 application is that child must be born in UK. And my circumstances that I am single parents and I worked in UK before so and I am in uk from last 5 year and my child is studying in school so I can handle situation here while in Pakistan I never work and there is not possibility for work, so there is no future of my child. No one is there to help me and my child.

Any possibility of child's father or you being granted ILR?

But in future? If either parent is granted ILR later, then at that point UK born child can be apply for registration as a British citizen.
