BC registration for children whose L2R expired a year ago

I need help with a sticky situation.
I got my ILR very recently after more than a year of waiting. Initially I thought I could get my ILR very quickly and I did not renew my child's dependent visa. My child was born in UK and now 5 years old. He travelled outside UK and had a Tier2 dependent vsia which expired a year ago. Will this make any complication to his BC registration? I had a look at the MN1 guidance note, and can not have any clue about the complication. Another thing is that my wife has not got her ILR yet. Is my child entitled to BC registration, as section 3(1) of the Nationality Act seems to require parents to be settled, not a parent. But some posts here suggest settlement of one parent is enough. please confirm if you have experience.

Registration is under Section 1(3). Should be okay.
