Hope someone can give me an idea if I do qualify for Citizenship here is my story.
Came to the UK in 2003 applied for asylum at Port of entry Heathrow airport. Got refused in 2004 and stayed on as an illegal immigrant.
In 2009 wrote to HO to be considered on the legacy cases and was granted IRL in 2010 March.
Been on a job for the past 5 years and no driving or other convictions.
My life at the moment.
Living with my cohabiting patner who is EU national with EU passport and have a daughter and she have a British passport if any of that info is helpful.
Thank you in advance for your opinions.

hi,
I am not a guru but as far as I know with the new rule (from December 2014) if you overstayed illegally you are not allowed to apply for BC for 10 years!
Does not matter that you have ILR or your child has British passport, I am afraid

Is it not from the year since he has been lawfully here which means he can apply in 2020?

Incorrect. It is ten years from the last day of illegal stay. So approximately March 2020 from the information he has given.

If:
8.10 wrote:an application for asylum or leave to remain was refused but was
later acknowledged to be an incorrect decision and the
appropriate leave was granted.
Then discretion should be used.
However, the question would be, was the refusal later acknowledged to be an incorrect decision?

preceding the application the person has not been compliant with immigration
requirements, including but not limited to having:
