Could I receive some views on the following, as I am unsure about some advice I received from the customer care line.

The UKVI team said it is OK to apply for my citizenship (EU citizen) in my maiden name (married 2 years ago) under the following circumstances:

1. The passport is in the maiden name
2. The LIUK test and SELT was taken in the maiden name
3. The married name is declared in section 1.8 of the AN1 form.
4. The pernament residence card is in the maiden name.
5. For some professional reasons, the maiden name is still used.

Please put aside the passport issue - I understand that this will not be possible until the foreign passport has been changed into the married name, and the maiden name passport has been cancelled. This is focussed entirely on the nationality application.

My query is over the new documentation that has obviously been updated (P60's) for the time since the marriage, which will show the married name and not the maiden name at application. The form mentions that all official documentation should match the name you are applying in, but this seems to infer nationality documentation, not proof of work (P60's) - the form states "This is to avoid a person having official documents in more than one identity."

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I'm not sure I'm going to be of great help but my ILR visa is in my maiden name, current passport in married name, application made in married name... at NCS appointment it was discovered that five years ago I had a short break in passports (was giving birth!) so I was advised to provide my P60 covering that year, that P60 was in married name and no one mentioned any issues.

I took my Marriage Cert to the NCS appointment but unsure as it if a copy was taken.

My biometric enrolment letter came addressed in my maiden name (due to ILR) and I had a panic about that (as application made in married name) but after advice here (and no response from Biometric team email address) I signed the biometric enrolment in married name, as per my application. Still feel very nervous that it will cause a problem.

It must be such a common issue I really wish there was clear advice on how to deal with the situation.

I am in a similar situation... My original passport and my BRP are in my maiden name (and I don't intend to change it because the process with my home country would be quite bureaucratic) and my P60s are in my married name.

I would more likely apply in my maiden name because that's the name that appears in all my official ID documents.

What happened to your application? I hope you were successful!
