Hi all,

Just a quick question and I hope you could help.

I am a British national overseas passport holder. I've held ILR since late 2012 and are now applying for British citizenship.

I am currently filling out the form AN. In section 6. Biometric enrolment, it's asking I have been issued with a BRP before. As i am a holding of BNO passport, my passport already contains my biometric ernolment same as https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/201 ... travellers

The problem i am facing is that i could not locate the BRP number on my passport which is required on 6.2, could someone please point me towards the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

M

Surely you have a BRP for your ILR? Use that information.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, I did not receive a BRP for my ILR.

Well if you do not have a BRP Card (i.e. your ILR is pasted in your passport as a vignette), then you answer 'NO'. BRP = Biometric Residence Permit card (looks similar to a drivers licence). BRP is not the same as a passport.

Strange as late 2012 BRPs were already being issued for ILR applications so not sure why you don't have one.

I've just checked and actually I've received my ILR on April 2012, so guess that's why i dont have a BRP.

I was thinking they could just use the biometric record on my BNO passport instead.

I got ILR in March 2012 and received a BRP card, hence my question on if your ILR is in your passport.

No, you cannot use your BNO passport for BRP in the form. The passport is not a BRP. The question asks if you have received a BRP card, then answer is no.

If the question is 'have you every submitted/enrolled biometric details', then the answer would be yes.

You will also have to enroll biometrics again as part of your citizenship application.

The ILR is in my passport, just like my old visas.

thanks for clearing that up. guess i've got to re-read the guide!
