Gaps in my qualifying years

Hi all,

I have found out I have two years gap in my HMRC records despite I was working in UK and receiving payslips, P60 and P45. It is related only to a company I was working for.

However, last year I managed to get my daughter British Nationality presenting Letter from employers and bank statement.

This year I managed to get DCPR presenting the same document.

In December, I should apply for my British Citizenship but I am worried this gap may make my application to be rejected loosing £1.250 fee.

However, I have sent HMRC documentation (payslips and p45) about those years and they are now investigating.
I am also asked my previous director to investigate with the accountant.

My question is:
Does the Home Office checks with HMRC to see if there are gaps in my qualifying years? Is a letter from employer a proof of work and it counts as qualifying years even if at HMRC they do not have any record?

This is my timeline in UK
Jan 2010: Entered in UK
Feb 2010: Started to work - May 2010: ended job
July 2010: Started new job - October 2012: Finished job (This is the one missing from HMRC)
October 2012: Started a my current job
October 2015: Got my new born daughter British Nationality based on my EC Treaty Rights.
May 2016: Got my DCPR based on my EC Treaty Rights.

My gap goes from July 2010 till October 2012.

Thanks in advance.

You need to submit tax/NI proofs for time in employment (during past 10 years).
I don't know the outcome if you cannot but you would clearly have to explain the gap.

Thank you very much.
When they ask for proof, they want letter from employers, P60 or HMRC letters.
Also they want tax reference code. Is it my PAYE?

Tax ref is found on P60. Its not same as tax code.

Thanks,

my HMRC record are up to date now and I have no gaps.

However, just to confirm, is the tax reference my PAYE?

Hi all,

I will send my AN application the 16th of December.
However, the 18th of December I will be out of the country till the 10th of January.
Will it be an issue?
Is there a deadline regarding the Biometric Letter?

Thanks in advance.

You will be given 15 days to submit your biometrics. If you don't, then HO will send another final letter giving you just 10 days to do it. After that, your application will be rejected.
