Hi All
I have a question.
I am applying for my Naturalization on December 31.
My question is regarding Civil penalty.
Last month I was travelling on West midlands Bus with an invalid Ticket (By Mistake). Inspector came and checked my ticket and asked me to come down . He took my personal information which I provided correctly. He then said if I pay £35 Pounds today, he will take out my name from the machine. I Said Yes I will pay. So I paid the 35 £ . He then printed the receipt from the machine and said to me that its blank. There is no address on it.
He also gave me a free ticket to travel for the day.
Now Can I Disclose this as a CIVIL PENALTY in my application or I don't need to disclose it.
Its been a month now and I have not received any Letter or Fine receipt from travel West Midlands BUS
PLZ HELP ME SENIOR MEMEBR OF THIS FORUM.
THANKS & HAPPY NEW YEARS TO ALL

You don't need to declare it as it was settled on the day and no further action was taken.

HI CASA Thanks for the reply.
So shall I Tick NO for CIVIL PENALTY.
Also it may be possible that he might have recorded the Penalty in his system.
AN form states that Whether you have any Civil penalty or not. Plz Advise.

The Inspector told you that your name would be taken out of the machine, but if you're still concerned, tick 'Yes' and explain the full circumstances. It won't result in your application being refused.
Do you still have the receipt?

Hi CASA
No He didn't give me the receipt. He printed the Receipt and showed me that there is no address on it. But he Kept it by himself.
So if I disclose as a CIVIL Penalty which I am not sure its been recorded or not by the inspector. That's why I am confused to Tick or untick.

If it had been recorded the Inspector would have been required to issue you with something in writing, which he obviously hasn't done.
He told you that your details had been removed from the ticket machine, so how did he note your name and address?

Yes CASA he was first asking me my info and DOB/ address, which I provided correct. He was entering the info in to the hand held machine. Then He was trying to match the name with the address and I think he was unable to match because I am not registered to the home address for polling. So then I think he said to me that Pay today 35 pound and I will take your name from the machine. So I paid and then he printed a Receipt which he showed to me that its blank and he kept the receipt.
Also IS there any way I can find out whether I have any CIVIL Penalty against me or not?
Please Advise.
Only TWo days left now. I am applying by 31.
THANKS
