Kids British Citizenship

Hi,
Apologies for reasking similar question which i asked couple of months back.

I got my ILR in oct 2016 , my wife got ILR in sept 2017. I have already applied for british citizenship at the end of october 2017.

Now some of my friends told me that their decision came within 6 weeks or so. I too got a text from HMPO that I need not plan any travel till 20th dec 2017 incase more information is required off me or an interview is required. But I did not receive any such query so I am assuming my case could be straight forward too. (Assuming had couple of tier 1 renewals and then ILR was straigtforward too).

Now my kid is still on tier 1 dependent and his visa will expire on 2nd feb 2017.
I have prepared 2 applications of his as of now.
1.) SET(F) form for his ILR case.
2.) MN1 form for his citizenship case.

Hoping that I may get decision sometime in first half of january 2018 in best case scenario, am I Ok to post Set (F) form for ILR incase I do not get my decision on citizenship?
or am I ok to dispatch MN1 form if I am lucky enough to get decision on citizenship by 1st half of january 2018 assuming that we qualify the condition that one parent has acquired BC and other is on ILR so kid can directly be enrolled for citizenship.

kindly guide.
thanks,
Sumit

How old is the child now?

Children born abroad are expected to have ILR before registration, along with at least one of parents either having British citizenship or having applied for it and the other parent having ILR.

So, even if you have British citizenship by February 2018, the child will still require ILR before MN1.

See Page 16 of Guide MN1 and Page 30 of the Registration as British citizen: children - Nationality Guidance.

Remember that a successful naturalisation decision does not make you a British citizen. Attending the citizenship ceremony makes you a British citizen and your citizenship is dated from the date of the citizenship ceremony, not the date of the decision.

EDIT: You have already been advised on this point earlier here and here. Repeating the question will not lead to a different answer.

Also worth remembering that, as CR001 has already advised in another thread linked to above, if the MN1 is refused due to lack of ILR, there is no appeal (except a reconsideration) and you will lose the whole MN1 fee.
