UK Newborn - UK Passport OR (ROA+Indian Passport)

Hi,
We both parents have UK Passport and OCI.

My baby is due this June. After baby is born in UK, I am planning to move immediately to India for long term due to personal reasons.
I understand that getting (British Passport+OCI) for new born takes atleast 4-5 months. Indian-Visa is not an option I believe, as baby can stay only 180days(6months) per visit.

Hence, I am thinking about (ROA+Indian passport).
ROA(Right of Adobe) gives my child any time entry back to UK AND Indian passport gives baby unlimited stay in India.
But, unable to understand timeline. Can anyone guide me please if (ROA+Indian passport) a right option for quicker travel to India?

Many Thanks in Advance!!

A British passport takes 1 week for a child as you can use fast track service.

For OCI, you would need to check the 'Other Countries' sub forum further down the main forum page.

Thank You CR001.

But, I need some help with ROA and how long it does take to get it. And, my approach of (Indianpassport+ROA) is a right apparoach to bring my child back to UK after few years?

ROA expires with a passport.

Your best option if you don't want to do British passport and OCI is to leave the UK on an Indian passport and apply for ROA when ready to return.

Not sure how the Indian passport issue works considering the fact that your child is automatically British.

Both parents being British may prevent child from being Indian?

Thank You for the link vinny.
Based on this information I understand that, within one year of baby's birth I should apply for Indian citizenship/passport. Otherwise, after one year we cannot claim as indian citizen.

Can any experts or people who have gone through the process of (Indianpassport+ROA) share their experience please??

As Vinny has already pointed out, Indian passport is not an option.

For the child to have Indian citizenship, the child needs to have at least one parent with Indian citizenship (not OCI, but full Indian citizenship) at the time of birth of the child AND either be born in India or be registered with the Indian authorities abroad within one year of his birth.

As both parents have British citizenship, the child cannot be registered as an Indian citizen and therefore cannot get an Indian passport. As CoE-RoA requires a non-British passport, it is not an option.

A CoE-RoA on an Indian passport would only work in two scenarios.
a) A child born in India to one British parent and one Indian parent
b) A child born in the UK to at least one parent with ILR/PR/British citizenship and one parent holding Indian citizenship (the parent holding Indian citizenship and ILR/PR can be the same parent).

The only option open to you for the child is a first child British passport.

Also see this scanned copy of the Citizenship Act 1955 on the (Indian) Ministry of Home Affairs website.

Thanks for the advice 'lostboy14'
This seems to better option for quicker travel to India:
British passport + 6months India visa and then apply OCI after reaching India.

New developments - It seems that Indian passport + CoE-RoA may be an option for children born in India to both naturalised British citizens with OCI.
