Hi my husband is in process of applying a british citizenship. As per naturalisation application form i am very worried about the section 1.35 which asks:

If your partner is naturalised british citizen enter date they were granted this citizenship:
Their citizenship certificate number:

I got my naturalisation certificate at the time of ceremony in 2014 but as far as i remember i never got it back while i applied for the passport...(i am not 100%sure though).i couldn't find my naturalisation certificate anywhere.i found all the docs that i used while applying for british citizenship.
So my question is can i leave that section(1.35) blank and sent my passport with cover letter instead as a proof to support my husband application.
Or do i need to have the citizenship date and number.
I even try to find a link where i can order a replacement but failed.
So anybody who's gone through somthing like this please could u plz mind advising.

HMPO does not keep the certificates. They are sent back once your passport application is processed.

Hi thank you for ur reply. I tired to fill this in earlier bt it ended up asking me a date of naturalisation and citizenship number which i don't have. And which is what i actully want

Hi, my husband did a last check with the last hope and found my naturalisation certificate lying in a same drawer we check before safe and sound. So search the house once again hopefully u might find it.goodluck.

True , but in the application they ask for NC reference number.

True , but in the application they ask for NC reference number.
