Naturalisation Application

Post by ukbusiness2016 » Wed Aug 14, 2019 4:58 pm

Hello,

I will be applying for citizenship in a couple of months (moving over from ILR) and just wanted to confirm the process and documentation. I would really appreciate your help with this.

Process
1. Fill Application form online
2. Book an appointment with the UKVCAS to verify all documents and for biometrics
3. Submit Application

Documentation:

1. Passport & BRP
2. List of all previous applications
3. Full employment history
4. All travel details
5. Degree certificate
6. Life in the UK pass test
7. Referee declarations

Please do let me know if I have missed something.

Regards

Not sure what you mean by travel details??

You only need to complete the absence in the form and submit passport.

Hi CR001,

Thanks for your response. When I wrote travel details I meant absence information.
Thanks again.

Hi CR001,

One more question please.

I know I have to be present in the UK exactly 5 years before the date of my application (I got my ILR through the Tier 1 Entrepreneur route).

Do I also need to be present on the date 3 years prior to the application as well?

Thanks

This only applies if you are married to a British citizen and applying on that basis for naturalisation, i.e. not having to wait 12 months on ILR first.

Hello CR001,

A few more questions I could use your help with please:

1. Non Applying Dependants - Do you have any dependants not applying with you at this time?

Shall I say yes considering my wife wont be applying with me? (she is here on a spouse visa and not a dependant visa)

2. Previous Application Details - Is it alright if I do not have the accurate dates I made the applications? I know the month and year but not the date.

3. Current Employment - I can furnish the necessary information however do I need to provide payslips?
I switched from self employment to full time employment - although this will be mentioned in my employment history, would I have to include my tax returns unless they are asked for?

4. Previous Employment History - I do not remember the accurate start and end date (not sure what month the job ended) for a job that I did when working part time as a student. I think it was May as far as I remember but I am unable to get hold of the records. Do I need to dig deeper to find this?

I apologise if any of the questions are silly, just want to ensure I understand correctly. Thank you for your help!

Answer Yes, correct.
2. Previous Application Details - Is it alright if I do not have the accurate dates I made the applications? I know the month and year but not the date.
Should be fine.
3. Current Employment - I can furnish the necessary information however do I need to provide payslips?

You don't need payslips.
4. Previous Employment History - I do not remember the accurate start and end date (not sure what month the job ended) for a job that I did when working part time as a student. I think it was May as far as I remember but I am unable to get hold of the records. Do I need to dig deeper to find this?
Approximate date should be fine.

Hello,

A slightly silly question but I just want to be certain:

My 1st referee is a colleague of mine (this is a personal referee).

My 2nd referee is an accountant, therefore a professional, but is a friend of mine and we have no professional relationship.

Is this going to be fine? Can my colleague be a personal referee and a friend a professional referee?

Thank you.

Hello all,

I have a situation that I hope I can get some help with.
I received my ILR on 22/10/2018 and therefore I am eligible to apply for citizenship.

I know you have to wait one full year therefore I wanted to apply today (22/10/2019) however when I sent the application a few moments ago (I sent it at 00:07am on 22/10/2019) my confirmation email states the payment date as 21/10/2019.

Will this be a problem and will this affect my qualifying period in any way?
Shall I upload proof of this when uploading documents along with a cover letter?

Thank you!
