If you married WITHIN the UK, your 10 years starts from this date.

Please do I need to include the letter in my application ? And also, do I need to include a covering letter?

Hi everyone, will be of a great help if I can get some help needed on this issue...i came into the country with a visit visa 2007, visit visa expired same year, .I got legaly married to my eea wife in July 10th 2009,, application for RC was made immediately after marriage,. On the 2nd September 2009, home office sent me a letter acknowledging my application and was given the right to apply for a national insurance card and to work while my application for RC is being considered...I applied for national insurance and got a job..on the 23rd of October 2010 I was issued a RC., In 2015, I applied and got my permanent residency card. now my question is, when I'm I due for citizenship application. Thank you all

It91, thanks for you contribution, but I was staying illegal between 2008 until in July 10th 2009 when I got married to my wife....some people I spoke to said I must wait till 2020 exactly 10 yrs since my first 5yrs RC

Many thanks Zimba, I appreciate your help... Actually I spoke to a lawyer few weeks ago in regards to issue , he told me that I must wait till 2020, , that sent me into confusion, he said my 10 yrs started in 2010 when my 5 yrs RC was granted and not 2009 when I was sent a letter by the home office acknowledging my application and at the same time giving me the right to live and work while my application is being looked into...

Also, lawyers always advise us to take the most difficult path in order to charge us. Luckily I did my own research and applied by my own with no problem.
