Question about the travel for baby born here

Hi,

Me, my wife and my elder daughter (born in India) got ILR recently.

We did not do ILR for my younger daughter (born in UK) as she is born here and we are planning to apply for naturalization now, after we have got our ILR.

My question is - The younger ones has a india passport and previous dependent tier 2 visa valid till end of 2020. We need to travel to india. Is it ok if all three of us travel on ILR and the baby travels on dependent tier 2 visa? We are planning to process her naturalization after we come back from India?

Kind regards

Children under 18 are registered as British. Only adults are naturalised as British.

You have to register her as British first on form MN1 if she was born BEFORE you got ILR.

Only a British citizen can apply for a British passport and if she was born before you got ILR and you have not yet registered her as British, then she is not entitled to a British passport directly.

Yes she was born before we got our ILR.

I shall register her as british after i come back from India using form MN1 and then will proceed for her british passport.

My main worry was whether i can go to India with three members on ILR and the baby (who was born here before our ILR and on Indian passport with previous dependent visa). But i got the answer, so i think i am good.

Thanks

Kind regards

Referees for 19 months baby - MN1

Hi,

I have a query regarding the 2 referees. I have asked my office colleagues, both of whom are BC, one of them is a qualified accountant. However, referee number 2 for a baby should be a professional who has engaged with the child in a professional capacity, such as a teacher, health visitor, social worker or minister of religion.

My baby does not go to a school so the teacher is not an option. In cases of babies, should I get the details of the health visitor? And what if he/she refuses to provide the reference or refuses to be a referee? I am stuck at this point. Can you provide pointers in this regards, please?

Kind regards
