First arrive in the UK?

Respected experts and experienced members hope this finds you all safe and well. I am sure this question has been asked before but I still want to pick your brains on this on my situations, if I may-so I came to the UK on 2005 as student but had to leave 2009 defeated by UKBA (at that time) in the courts. However I made fresh new application under PBS TIER 4 on August 2010 and got the visa again so I entered Sep 2010 and after that things are pretty as usual like PSW then Tier-2 then ILR.

Now please help me to decide which date should I put as the answer of this question. I would really appreciate if you could explain a little bit why should I put the date you think I should use?

Thanks in advance for your time and take care.

I suggest it's "Sep 2010" as that is the start of your long term stay in the UK.
Remember though you'll still have to disclose your visa(s) application before that date, including your student time.

Hi alterhase58, thanks for your prompt reply. I am not sure if I have those info looking back beyond 2010. Don't you think it should be enough if I cover the period from 2010-2019/2020 regarding application history. Although the HO reference I am using is the same one which was issued when I was refused back in 2009.

From 1st hand experience, I put down date when I entered with view of remaining permanently/long stay which as @alterhase58 stated rightly. Even the guidance explains same, My application was successful based on above. So should be Sept 2010 in my own opinion.

Best is to do a subject access request to HO and you can get all personal info and dates Relating to applications under your name

I agree as well but not sure about disclosing the application info beyond 2010 on this very application form where I am saying entered 2010 but again adding application dates for 2005, 2006,2007,2009? Although I know HO have this info already. Really confused!!! Hope some one can shade more light in this.

thanks all and still appreciate if someone wants to add to this thread of their experiences and experts please.

The question in the application asks about "any" immigration applications in the UK or abroad. There is no time limit. Provide the details you have available. Don't rely on UKVI having all your details going back years. Naturalisation is a different section from visas.

Thanks for your input and I am taking it seriously. So do you think I should use my first entry as 2005 and disclose all the application info (using just the year of applications I made as not sure of the month and dates, SAR is not going to be easy to get now)? or use 2010 as first entry and still give all the application info?

Still think 2010 is the correct date but in my view this is not a deal breaker - disclosing your applications will of course refer to your prior period in the UK.

So you think I should use 2010 and obviously mention the previews application right?

Yes.
