Hi i am confused if the British spouse has 3 years 5 years or 10 years route
I have seen many post with different routes
My wife recently got spouse visa and was given letter
With it stating 2.5 years visa on arrival plus it says
She is on 10 years route? For citizenship
Can someone please help what exactly British spouse route is for how many years?
Thank you

She needs 5 years on a spouse visa before she can apply for ilr.

If she meets the rewuiremes once she has ilr, she can apply for citizenship immediately based on spouse of British citizen, which is based on 3 years residence.

There is no such thing for naturalisation as a British citizen as a 10 year route.

It may be a generic letter. What was on the first page of the letter and on the vignette?

The letter is generic and lists different routes depending on what visa was granted. As the first page, and presably the visa vignette, states spouse (standard), it is the 5 year route.

You are reading the 10 year paragraph out of context as that paragraph applies if the visa is granted as (non-standard 2), as clearly indicated above the paragraph.
