British Citizenship / Naturalisation - Submitted Application

Dear All,

I have just submitted my naturalisation application and I received an email saying "UKVI is currently assessing wether your application can be progressed via the IDV app...and will revert in 7-10 days"

My understanding of this is that:

1. I will just have to wait for them to revert, not much more to do - please correct me if I am wrong
2. if they say that it it okay for me to use the IDV app, what does this imply exactly? That if I get the email from UKVCAS asking me to download the IDV app, I should be able to complete my biometrics without having to book the in person appointment?
3. as I wait for the email in #2 above, do I go ahead and upload the required documents on the UKVCAS website or will these be uploaded via the IDV app?
5. In terms of required documets, what document is best used to prove residency (Non-EEA applicant)? I have uploaded all copies of my passports covering the qualifying period. Are these enough?
4. Anything else to be aware of post submitting the application?

Thanks in advance

1- I would wait for an email from them
2- The email might give you more guidance
3- The email will possibly give you more guidance
4 - If you passports were stamped every time you entered and left the UK, that is enough evidence of residence, just upload copies of all pages. For lawful residence you'll need to upload copies of your BRPs I believe

Correct. They tell you to wait, you wait.
2. if they say that it it okay for me to use the IDV app, what does this imply exactly? That if I get the email from UKVCAS asking me to download the IDV app, I should be able to complete my biometrics without having to book the in person appointment?
Correct, If, on the other hand they tell you to book an appointment for biometrics, you book an appointment for biometrics. Just do what they tell you to do!
3. as I wait for the email in #2 above, do I go ahead and upload the required documents on the UKVCAS website or will these be uploaded via the IDV app?
I would just wait for their email, then:
a. If told to use the app, upload everything on the app.
b. If told to book biometrics, upload everything on the UKVCAS site, the same where you book biometrics.

I have seen someone here saying the app and the UKVCAS are the same site, but I can't confirm that. Just for peace of mind, I would keep to just one method, for consistency's sake.
5. In terms of required documents, what document is best used to prove residency (Non-EEA applicant)? I have uploaded all copies of my passports covering the qualifying period. Are these enough?
If your passports have all the required stamps, yes. But if your passport has not been stamped every time you come in and out, you might want to add work certificates from your previous employers, confirming you worked in the UK. (I had to do this even as a non-EEA, since my partner is EEA and I was on a EEA card for 5 years, which does not require stamps on passport, so there is no blanket answer for non-EEA).

Check for the full checklist of documents. To find the list, see this post.
4. Anything else to be aware of post submitting the application?
One mistake I see people make is hitting the "submit" button before all documents are uploaded. I believe that effectively blocks the submit functionality and it no longer allows you to submit any more documents. So do it only once you have all documents uploaded.
