I am having British Citizenship via naturalization route and hold British passport in Aug 2015. After receiving my passport in May 2016 left UK to India for parents health issues. I have stayed in India for last 8 years. Can i renew my British passport from India? Will i be questioned for not staying I UK as I didn't met the requirement "intend to make uk permanent home". Could you please clarify?

You can renew from abroad: https://www.gov.uk/overseas-passports
The "future intentions" requirements would be as per the date you applied, not for life!
Just like any other citizen you can come and go as you wish, leave the country, even forever.
If you applied for your first passport from abroad though questions may have been raised at that time.

Thankyou alterhase for your thoughts on my query.

Looking at the above post, there might be a potential possibility for question to be raised for my extended leave from UK.

What kind of documentation do i need to be prepared for as its been 9 years and lost paperwork for when my dad was admitted to hospital.

Before you even think there’s an issue apply for a new passport - that would tell you if there’s are issues (unlikely).
Many BCs through naturalization live abroad and there’s no evidence of regular issues coming up.

Note the poster you referred to has never come back with any issues!

Once you obtain your first British passport you are past the hurdle of future intentions requirement. Note that renewals abroad can take a lot longer.

That is their target and most applications should be processed under that, but not all of them are. Hard to know what to expect.

Sorry.. I have one more question that came to me. Kindly clarify.

For the passport renewal, one of the document which I have to send is National identity card. And i realized that i applied for this card in 2015 in India. And the card also shows the date on which it was issued.

If I send that document as identity proof, will it increase the risk of doubting my intention at the time of Naturalization application?

Identity card is Aadhar card.

Has the ID card specifically been requested by HMPO when you completed the online passport application?
Not aware this is specifically required (not seen this before) or it this specific to applicants from India?
Can you perhaps post the list of required documents (this can vary from applicant to applicant)?
As mentioned in previous posts HMPO or UKVI won't investigate your previous naturalisation application.

I have re-checked my files and found a letter, acknowledgement of applying in late 2014 (aug) but it was issued in 2015. Hence i got confused that i had applied in 2015.

Yes for applications from abroad,

For all other passport applications, you must provide from the list below:
• at least one document with photo identity; and
• one document as evidence of name and address and/or residency within the last year

• Your British passport (if you are renewing)
• Non-British uncancelled passport
• National identity card or equivalent (or colour photocopy)
• Visa or residence permit (or colour photocopy)
• Tax record (for example, a letter from a tax authority)
• Educational record (for example, a school report)
• Employment record (for example, an official letter from your employer)
• Letter sent to you from a central, regional or local government department
• Medical/health card
• Voter’s card
• Immigration documents

For address proof, i will send AAdhar (national identity) and photo identity i will send british passport.

I hope they are sufficient

Not sure national ID card will satisfy the address requirement as it is not dated in the last year, it's almost 10 years old? Unless it is a requirement to keep the address on it up to date. If you have to send originals, you may want to choose another document on that list so that you are not left without valid ID.

The date on the ID card won't be an issue, you weren't even applying for naturalisation at the time, applicants can renew their non-British ID documents as they see fit.
