English Test for ILR

Post by year2020 » Wed Jan 08, 2020 1:42 am

Hello everyone !

Sorry If have posted under wrong topic. Please advice if so, I am new to this forum.

Current status:
I am preparing to apply for ILR with kids next month. we are on dependant visa at the moment. My husband is on ILR.

my question:
what English test I need to take ? is it like IELTS , where I have to pass 4 modules and get certain bands?
or is it a straight forward speaking test?
My second question is: Is there any checklist i can follow to prepare my ILR applications ?
Is there any other main requirements apart from English and life in UK?

Thank you very much

It is called SELT and for ILR, you need get a pass min at B1 level, it is a simple 10 min exam.
See: https://www.trinitycollege.com/qualific ... SE-grade-5
You also need cohabitation documents covering the last two years, from at least 3 different sources

Thank you Zimba. It was very helpful !
cohabitation documents : Do I need for last 5 years or 2 ? Because we are eligible to apply for ILR after completing 5 years.
Marriage certificate, council tax bill , bank statements and tenancy agreement are ok you think ?
Thank you
