I have lived and worked in the UK for four years under a Tier 2 (General) visa while also completing a postgraduate degree. Recently I have switched to a Tier 4 visa to complete my degree for the next few months, but have good prospects of getting another job once I'm done. My question is, if the total time I spend under a Tier 4 visa (with no time spent abroad in 1+ years) is less than 180 days, and before then I switch to a Tier 2 visa again, would the first four years count towards obtaining ILR, or would the clock reset and I would need to start from zero the "continuous residence" again?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
