Leaving UK during ILR application

Hi,

My wife is about to apply for ILR. We were hoping to use the priority service, but it seems difficult to do this at the moment. The main concern is that we had planned to leave the country within the next half year. Will we keep her passport or is this kept as part of the application? And does leaving the country otherwise impact the ILR application?

She can keep the passport, but leaving the country before a decision is made will withdraw the application. You may want to look at the timeline posts at the top of this board to get an idea how long it will usually take. But always bear in mind every application is different and some can take much longer than others
