Indefinite leave to remain

Post by Ali8600 » Fri Sep 16, 2022 10:24 am

Hello,
Can someone please clarify when is the earliest I could apply ILR. I was on 10 years family route. Switched to 5 years spouse visa valid from 19/10/2017 to 17/05/2020. Got extension from 07/10/2020 till 26/04/2023. Do I have to wait till 04/2023 or can I apply earlier. Thank you

It depends.

You haven't stated when you started your initial 10 years route, so it's impossible for anyone to give you a concise year or date.

However, it depends on how long you've spent on 10 years route.

You can either wait till 28 days less to 19/10/2022 (5 year issue date + 5 years) as dated above, or 10 years. Whichever comes first.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!

It becomes irrelevant when my 10 year route started coz I switched to 5 year route.

You could qualify for ILR based on 10 years long residence, this is what we are trying to establish. You have provided very limited information tbh.
