Initial spouse visa was granted 10th of Dec, so the 28 days window brings me to 12th of Nov. If this loss of Job is going to be a problem, could I apply on 30th of October then? I should be within the 28 days when a decision is made on my application.
This manoeuvre is relatively safer because on the date of application, academically, you will be employed whilst remaining covered by virtue of section 3C, and be benefited from the caseworker's discretion where you need to qualify on the date of decision.
Thanks very much Seagul,

In terms of the qualifying period, If I apply on the 30th of October which is 13 days outside of the 28 days and the application is looked at after the 12th of Nov (Due date), is this still leaving it in the hands of the caseworker to use discretion or he/she must use the one that's most beneficial as stated in the guidance? Also the "any date up to 28 days after the date of application" reads to me like 56 days. Thanks

Caseworker is aware about this and will apply this discretion as happened with a lot of cases.

Help Please.

I am applying for ILR on Friday (Spouse 5yr route), I have just noticed that wife's British passport expired in August, does this matter? she's got no idea where her Birth Certificate is. Also, with regards to bank statement, will only pages showing income suffice or do I need to scan the lot? It's a huge chunk as I am having to use wife's documents as well to leave no room as per previous post re-redundancy on October 31st. Thanks very much

I don't think so an expired passport even a British one will be considered unless there is a discretion which isn't come to surface or I am not aware to. Why not try to renew it or order a replacement birth certificate assuming she/he is a UK born.
Regarding bank statements to fulfill the financial requirement then yes you will have to attach the whole pile of pages covering the relevant period 6/12 months depending on the category.

Thanks very much Seagul. We've applied for a new British Passport last night, they said 3 weeks but I know from experience you get it much quicker. My two sons passport only took a week. Do you know how long I will have to upload my documents once I apply tomorrow? I am still waiting for my bank statements in the post too. Thanks very much.

You easily can stretch your biometrics appointment up to 2 months whilst keep uploading your documents.

Thanks.

I have just applied. In almost all the centers, there is no BRP enrollment appointments until at least first week in December, however, a found a center that has spaces next week and the week after so I have ordered a copy of birth certificate for wife - Next day, rather than wait for replacement british passport to arrive so I can make one of these appointments.

Are there any documents that need to accompany the birth cert? I am going to scan the expired passport as well. I am also submitting council tax in both of our names dating back to 2018 so hopefully this should be ok.

Once again, thanks very much for your help

Since supplying birth certificate, dont see a reason for the passport, an expired one at that and which expiry ab initio necessitated getting
birth certificate.

If you are referring to cohabitation evidences then that scant evidence alone would be insufficient because you would need 6 piece of documents if joint named otherwise 12 documents from at least 3 sources covering the last 2 years with even gaps of 3-4 months.

Thanks Seagul,

I have 2018, 2019 and 2020 council tax addressed to both of us which should count for 6 of the 12 required. I have also mixed it up with electricity bills, broadband bills, letter from bank, pension letter etc making sure they are well spread out. I have added a few extra just to be on the safe side.

HELP regarding TSB Bank Statement.

Please, does anyone here bank with TSB and used their statement for application? I have just received the statement I ordered through the post and it's the exact same one as in my online banking, actually poorer in quality as it was printed in black and white and on a normal A4 sheet.

Please can anyone advise what I should do? I am thinking of printing my online one as well and adding a cover letter in my application explaining that the B&W one was what I got through the post from my bank.

Personally, I can't understand why they still request for postal statements from UK banks to UK addresses when it's only copies of these statements they are after.

Thanks

You do not need to print your online statement, just download PDF copies and upload as evidence.
There is no need to write an explanation.

Thanks very much, what I meant by print is save pdf copies of downloaded statement. Going by the guidance, the downloaded pdf's would not suffice as evidence, please correct me if I am wrong - they need to be either postal or certified with stamp.

Downloaded PDF suffices so far it is the same in all respect to what you get via post. Guidsnce needs updating to keep up with the times.

Guru's in the house,

So I have booked my appointment for 2pm on Friday 20th.

I have also uploaded all documents except for wife's birth certificate which I am expecting in the post tomorrow. It says on the Sopra Steria you have up until 48hrs before appointment to upload all docs.

My mail usually comes in by noon but in case I don't get the birth certificate in time tomorrow - by 2pm (48hrs before appointment), can this be scanned and uploaded for me at the center? will there be a charge?

Thanks very much

Possibly you won't be charged only for scanning this document.

You can scan and upload it at the appointment. It is a paid for service.

Just a quick thanks to everyone that contributed here.

The birth cert came in today along with postal bank statements which I have now scanned, uploaded and submitted on UKVCAS. Just the appointment to attend on Friday, hoping it's a smooth one and then it's a waiting game.

Already prepping my docs for naturalization.

I attended the bio-metrics appointment in Sunderland yesterday (took only 10mins - rip off, as I paid £135). I have noticed nothing has changed on my sopra steria account despite the lady saying she's sent everything to home office. It's still showing that I can still upload more docs. Is this normal? just curios. Thanks

Other forum members reported same with their application and no problem at the end.
