ILR - Absences from the UK

Hi All,
I am due to apply for an ILR at Croydon PEO on 15th Nov using the Tier 1 General route. All else is fine when it comes to filling the new SET(O) form, except for section 6 wherein I have to give a list of absences from the UK. I have had continuous presence in the UK over the 5 year period. However, I have made a lot of small trips to various European countries during this time (I have a list of every trip I made, with flight/train/ferry tickets, etc). The total amounts to about 190 days over the 5 year period. Of these 190 days, about 21 days are work related.
In section 6 of this form, I am required to provide all the absences from the UK with a reason for absence and related evidence. The form says "Evidence of all work-related absences (including paid annual leave) is required from those applying under Tier 1 (General)...". My absences that have occurred due to leisure reasons took place mostly on weekends, sometimes including a day or two of annual paid leave. Now my two problem are:
- A lot of my holidays were taken in 2009 and 2010 when I was working at my previous employer. The whole management of that organisation has changed since a buyout. When I recently contacted them, they said they were able to give me a letter to evidence absence from the UK for the business reasons, but not for my leisure trips as they were not aware of my presence in/absence from the UK on these days. Although I have not yet contacted my curent employer for getting an avidence of my annual holidays from them, there is a good chance they will have the same stance as they hold no responsibility for my presence or absence on my days of paid annual leave. How to I tackle this situation? What sort of alternate proof can I offer the home office? Are my payslips sufficient evidence?
- For the days that I have taken a day trip to France, or went away for a bank holiday weekend to Germany, etc, the annual paid holiday was not used, so no one can vouch for my whereabouts on those days. Will I need to give my flight tickets to prove that I was out of the UK for leisure reasons on those days? If so, what evidence can I supply?
