Date Confusion - Urgent

Hi Guys,
I urgently need ur valuable advice on booking a peo appointment.
I was under the impression ( after reading this forum and policies ) that I can apply for my ILR 28 days before completing my 5 years stay (for T-1 G )
But I was told by someone that I can only apply 28 days before my current visa expires.
Now Im confused *$%"#
Here is my timeline:
HSMP visa issued 17.12.2008
1st entry to UK 30.12.2008
T1(G) issued 19.01.2011
T1(G) valid till 19.01.2014
Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

In your case you can apply ILR, 28 days before of 17.12.2013.

Someone was incorrect.
However, you won't have a right of
appeal if they refuse your
application and you have leave remaining.
correct date to provide in Section 6.1 of the Set (O) form

Hi there,
I have came to UK on 27 Sep 2002 as a student.
I had been granted Tier 1 General on 02 Jan 2009 and granted extension successfully.
I will be applying for ILR under Tier 1 General category.
I am confused what to answer to this question below, Section 6.1 in SET(o) application form:
When did you (the main applicant) first enter the UK? This
refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning
of the period of stay on which this application is based.
Should I put 27 Sep 2002 as 1st date of Entry or shall I enter the date of my first entry under the Tier 1 General Category.

refers to the date of your first entry into the UK at the beginning
of the period of stay on which this application is based.
On my SET O form - on that question I put the first date I came to England..they were ok with that
