I have been in U.K. Since 2010 first as tier 2 general dependent. Spouse got PR on 2011 and then citizenship on 2012. Visa extented as flr(m) rejected not provided esol test. Appealed but ukba withdrew case on court hearing. Visa extented flr (m) from Dec 2013 - Dec 2015. ( only granted 2 yrs visa) . Extented again flr(m) Jan 2016- Jan 2018. Only been granted again for 2 years. Now I'm under the impression that I fall under new rules because i applied after 9th July 2012 for flr(m). But the home office letter sent at refusal and sent at first extension and second extension contradicts .the letter sent at extensions says I'm on a 2 year route rather than a 5 year route. Please someone help!!!

If you were a PBS dependent prior to 9th July 2012 and applied for FLR(M) prior to
6th April, 2014, then I believe that you are on the 2-year route.

Thankyou for the prompt reply. My spouse got ILR from 10 year residency in 2011 does that make a difference?

Please do click on the '14 April 2014' link that vinny has provided, it explains the rules and subsequent rule changes which are not applicable to your case.

Why was there the extensions when you could have applied for settlement over 4 years ago. Was it English language and life in the UK issue?

Combined income can be used for applications within the UK.
Kindly also keep all your questions on the same application in one topic (both now merged).
