My wife and son entered in uk as my dependent in 2008 as hsmp route
Then I had my ilr in 2016 as 10 year route
And my lawyer advise me apply there visa on year root as ilr dependants and got for 2 and half year
Are they alllow to go straight for ilr
As they entered in country more then five years as my dependent there was no gap in visa status

When was their initial entry?
When will their leave expire?

They may separately apply for SET(LR) no sooner than 28 days prior to the 10th anniversary of their initial entry and before their leave expires.

Or wife may apply on SET(LR) and child may apply on SET(F).
