Can the gurus in the house help,as cr001 has advised its from the date of entry as a tier 2 dependant to calculating the 5 years continuous period ,however some people have advised recently it is from the date of issue of the visa for calculating the 5 year continuous period.
I would be grateful if succesful cases are advised.
Thank you

It is the start date of the visa. The rules changed earlier this year.
Useful to state the visa details, i.e. start date and date of entry.
as cr001 has advised its from the date of entry as a tier 2 dependant to calculating the 5 years continuous period
It hugely depends on which posts you are reading that I responded to, i.e. if December 2017 posts, then yes it WAS date of entry!!!

I just got my ILR application approved yesterday. I am Tier 2 Dependant, I applied it with counting from date of issue. I entered the UK about 50days later than my visa started date.

The continuous residence-does it imply living together for 5 years before applying for ilr-as a tier 2 dependant

Yes, or almost 5 years based on the date of application.

it is just a bit confusing the living together bit and the date the visa was issued.
Thank you soo much

HO know the rules. Don't overthink it. Spouse will be fine provided there is not a huge gap between date of visa issue and entering the UK.

Actually, I have read the content in Tier 2 Policy Guidance (Version 01/2018), on page 61, the PART 10: TIER 2 SETTLEMENT (INDEFINITE LEAVE TO REMAIN) APPLICATIONS
www.gov.uk/government/publications/guid ... r-2-worker

"259. Your qualifying period can include time from the date your initial application (for entry
clearance or leave to remain) was approved."
