Hello everyone,

Please, I need your advice on the right time to apply for ILR as a dependent of UK tier 2 employee. My current visa will expire on 14th March 2019 and that makes 4 years 11 months and 14 days.

Kind regards,
Olayinka.

When is the 'UK tier 2 employee' going to apply for ILR??

What is the start date of your first dependent visa?

What date did you enter the UK?

More details needed if you expect strangers on an internet forum to offer any useful advice!!

The tier 2 holder is due to apply at the end of November. I came to the United Kingdom on 27th July 2014. My initial visa was valid from 1st April 2014 till 2nd February 2017. I got an extension as my spouse move to another job and the resident permit is valid from 16th February 2017 to 14th March 2019. The tier 2 holder is qualified to apply in November this year due to the change to the 90 days for someone to move from one job to another within the UK.

My initial visa started on 1st of April 2014 before it was extended to 14th March 2019 as my wife switched employer but still on tier 2 general. This means I have less than 28 days to reach 5 year and I assume there won't be any need to extend my visa or what do you think?. Also how soon can I start my application for ILR.

I entered the UK less than 180 days after the issuance of my first visa and I have been in the UK since. Also my wife will apply for her ILR in December 2018.

You cannot apply for ILR until within 28 days before 1 April 2019.

There is no requirement that you must have a valid visa up to the 5 year mark. It must be valid on the date of ILR application and as you can apply 28 days before 1 April 2019, you seem to be fine.

You can apply for ILR no sooner than within 28 days before 1st April 2019. There is no requirement that your visa must be valid right up to the date you qualify. It must be valid when you apply for ILR.

The main applicant got ILR last December and mine is due in March. Am I going to apply as dependant of settled applicant or dependant of tier 2 general main applicant?.

Not sure why you are asking again when this has been answered more than once.

It is ILR based on TIER 2 GENERAL DEPENDENT, using form SET(O)!!
