New UKVI APP for ILR question
Posted: Mon Jan 17, 2022 9:52 am
by kbthebear
Hi All,
Just submitted my ILR application - Spouse Set M (after 2.5+2.5year spouse route)
Could not book any slots, then few minutes later got an the email to suggest they are looking to change the process to online app and I will be notified if I can use this method.
Does anyone know when exactly they will let me know by?
Should I still upload all my documents on Sopra? the upload webpage does work even though the email said it will not allow you.
Thanks,
K B
Close to expiry on ILR application

Hi All
I have applied for ILR on 15th Jan (paid and UAN given)
My BRP is due to Expire on 30th Jan. Do you think this is going to cause any issue? I was reading somewhere that if its within 14 days of expiry it might be?
My understanding is as long as you apply before the BRP expires it will be accepted
Any information or experiences will be much appreciated
thanks,

Procedures change regularly so we cannot advise on the latest changes. Last year many were invited to use the App instead after an invitation.
If you apply before the expiry date, you will be protected under Section 3C. So do not worry about visa expiry

Cash declaration letter for ILR

Hi All
Any advise on how to create this cash declaration form?
I have signed a letter I made saying ' Dear home office, I am confirming and declaring this cash for the application, the funds are cash savings'
Would that suffice?
thanks,

HI Zimba
I am not sure, it was stated as a document required on the checklist, along with the proof of funds held for 6 months.
Maybe they want my signature against it to confirm where the source is from?
Zimba is it ok to split out out my questions on the forum, as they are different topics
thanks

Thanks for the link
sadly even that document has a very brief explanation:
''a declaration by the account holder(s) of the source(s) of the cash savings''
Any thoughts? thanks

There is no form. Simply write a simple declaration and explain the source of the funds. Not a big deal

A simple letter stating the amount and how long held for and the source of it will suffice.
Back this with account statements covering the required period and if any evidence of the source upload it too.
New UKVI APP for ILR question

For anyone that has used the new mobile app for biometric appointment for ILR - do you need to upload all the supporting documents within the app or can be done the normal way via the sopra website like before?
I am keen on getting my docs on there, but don't want to mess it up if its required to be uploaded on app only
thanks,

Hi Kbthebear,
Have you received an email inviting you to use UKVI APP?
My wife submitted her SET (M) application on Sunday, but we cannot book an appointment as all the slots are “greyed out” i.e. no appointments available. I have read on UKVCAS site that SET(M) applicants need to wait for another email from UKVCAS where they will be offered either book an appointment or use UKVI APP.

HI Arthur
Yes exactly this. I am also waiting for an email of invite, let me know when yours comes and i will do same.
UKVI suggests that the invite should come within 2 weeks, waiting that long is very stressful.

Hi Artur and all,
I called UKVAS to ask about email invite, will take a full 10 working days to get this email. Then the app will be used to upload all documents. Wait continues!

Hi Kbthebear,
Congrats for receiving the email. Hope to receive ours soon as well.
Out of curiosity, did it allow you to book first week of Feb or second week?
When you called UKVCAS, did you provide your full details and let them know you are awaiting their email or was it just general enquiry you made?
Thank you

They had slots even for this week, but at a cost of £125.
Free ones they had some starting 2nd week Feb from memory
I called for that question only and gave full details, note the call was very expensive to make

Morning KB,
I have just checked UKVCAS account and slots have become available for us, even though no email has been received from them.
Luckily I have found one free slot at Croydon on the 7th Feb and booked it.
Good luck with your application.

Biometric - did not ask to see BRP - ILR M

Hi All
Just attended biometric -
They only asked to see my Passport which was manually scanned in by the agent. I asked about if they wanted to scan or see my BRP and was told no?! (other times like 2.5yr extension they did want to see it)
Bit weird if you ask me, is this normal?
thanks, kb
