Additional document upload for Cohabitation

Hi,

I have applied for ILR (SET O) as a T1 Dependent after spending 5 years as dependent and have used a priority service. UKVI have contacted me after my biometric and asked me to provide additional evidence for cohabitation within 2 days. I have all the evidence for last 2 years from various sources but I am unclear if I have to send the same by replying to the email or by uploading them in the UKCAS website where I had uploaded all other documents for the biometric appointment.

For now I have uploaded them on the UKVCAS website but the status has not changed to submitted yet. I have also replied to the email from UKVI informing them about the same. However I would appreciate if anyone who has been in the same position can guide me on the correct way to send documents - reply email to UKVI or via UKVCAS website? I have also sent an enquiry to UKVCAS but expect them to take 5 days to respond.

Thanks

The email would say to send by return email.

Once you have attended your biometrics, any documents you upload to UKCVA are not submitted or visible to UKVI.

You were advised of this cohabitation requirement in 2020 when you asked about dependent's ILR.

Thanks for the clarification.

Could you please also provide some guidance on the 'List of documents' that we may need to produce during ILR application of PBS Dependent partner as they will be applying separately from the main applicant.

I want to make sure that we retain anything important that we may need 2-3 years from now like rent agreements for all houses we have lived in, air tickets for any travel outside UK to prove absences?

If we have a marriage certificate, is that sufficient or do we still need to provide additional documents like joint rent agreements or joint bills etc.?
Please read the guidance.

You should provide two years of cohabitation evidence. So, official documents addressed to each of you (separately or jointly) at the same address from at least three different organisations that covers the two year period prior to your application date.

Thanks for the quick response.

Yes I am aware that I was advised about the cohabitation requirement earlier and hence had all the documents collected and ready for upload. However, when I saw the checklist of documents to be submitted, it wasn't mentioned and I didn't want to complicate matters.

Looks like was wrong and should have done it in the first place as advised by you.

The checklists are generic. You should always follow the official UKVI guidance and rules.

The cohabitation evidence is to prove 'subsisting relationship'.

Cohabitation evidence is not mentioned in the rules. The rules require you to have lived in the UK in a subsisting genuine relationship, hence the home office procedures historically required cohabitation evidence.
